Index Prices
Index Price or Oracle price on Hotstuff is computed as a weighted median of prices on external CeFi & DeFi venues i.e. not dependent on Hotstuff books. This price is reported by Hotstuff L1 validators periodically.Mark Prices for Perps
Mark prices are updated every time new index prices are reported by validators. Mark Prices for perpetual instruments is computed as a median of the following 3 components:- Index Price plus a 5-min exponential moving average (EMA) of difference between mid price and index price
- The median of best bid, best ask and the last trade price on Hotstuff L1
- Median of prices on external venues
